Grow Ahead Launches

We are proud to be part of the launch of Grow Ahead where consumers can finance small coffee farmers. Coffee drinkers now have a unique opportunity to support small coffee producers and their families in developing countries by lending money that will be used to pre-finance the harvest of coffee from organized smallholders.

How it Works
Consumers start this process by signing up online at Grow Ahead and lending money. Your loan does not gather interest, and you receive the same amount of money back, at the end of the loan.

When you have made your loan, you will receive your lender's card in a confirmation e-mail. Bring that to Bean North and we will give you a lender's reward. Read more on 'How it Works' here.

This Loan will Pre-Finance the APECAFORM Coffee Cooperative
The APECAFORM coffee cooperative located in the southwest highlands of San Marcos, Guatemala on the slopes of the volcano Tajumulco, the highest volcano in Central America. The members of APECAFORM are excited to be participants in this unique crowd funding opportunity.

Once the coffee is exported by APECAFORM to Cooperative Coffees, the loan will be paid back to Grow Ahead and the coffee will be available at Bean North for our customers.

Grow Ahead will then be able to pay back the lenders who are also free to choose to withdraw the money, re-lend it to finance another container of coffee, or donate it to support development projects for farmers and their organizations.
