Bean North donates our roaster ‘Big Red’

Bean North Coffee donated “Big Red,” a beautiful small-batch coffee roaster, to the SOPPEXCCA Cooperative in Nicaragua. It arrived in Managua in November 2010, and after being stuck in customs for four months, it was finally shipped to Jinotega and in May 2011, was set up and ready to roast coffee! Everyone here at Bean North would like to thank all the people who made donations to help ship our old roaster “Big Red” to the SOPPEXCCA cooperative in Nicaragua.

Grow Ahead Launches

Coffee Drinkers are now in Business with Coffee Producers

Bean North Coffee Roasting Company is proud to be part of the launch of Grow Ahead where consumers can finance small coffee farmers. It’s as easy as it is delicious. And it’s rewarding with every cup you drink. Starting this week coffee drinkers are offered a unique opportunity to support small coffee producers and their families in developing countries. Coffee consumers can now lend money that will be used to pre-finance the harvest of coffee from organized smallholders through Grow Ahead, the foundation that connects consumers and producers.
