Project LLAMA
In November 2008, Bean North is launching the first three cans of Cafe LLAMA in conjunction with the LLAMA project. These images are artwork by the three Canadian participants, Joyce Majiski, Patricia Deadman and Haruko Okano.
Funds raised through donations and the sale of coffee goes towards supporting the artists during this project. (Travel, supplies, housing and studio costs and shipping of artwork for exhibitions, honorariums for community members). Surplus funds will go towards ongoing art projects and working towards art education and outreach.
LLAMA: THE “LOOK LISTEN AND MAKE ART” PROJECT
LLAMA explores the influences of culture and change and works to give voice to people on issues that impact our place in the world. LLAMA’s innovative outreach programs and collaborations will reflect our changing world and strive to shift perspectives and realities.
The first LLAMA project “VOZ/Voice: the arts of resistance, brings together a diversity of professional artists from Canada and Mexico to share ideas, stories and experiences with each other and community members. There will be a series of exhibitions, community projects and discussion forums in a number of locations highlighting the outcomes of this collaboration and the residencies in Canada and Mexico. Check our blog for updates and information.
